You may already know that parts of New York City (Brooklyn) are fast becoming leaders in the Urban Farming trend. Yay for Brooklyn, but the most awesome place to explore your agrarian nature in the N-Y-C is in Queens. The Queens County Farm has occupied New York City's largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland since 1670-ish. This farm in the city practices traditional methods of sustainable farming and is open to the public year round. Basically, they do it the way they've always done it. Dig it.
Crafted Spoon is an Indiana based site featuring people, businesses, and community programs that are contributing to Indiana’s slow food movement. This video features Big City Farms, a group that converts vacant urban lots to vegetable and fruit producing gardens and operates a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) from May thru October.
